Atkins acquires Mantix Group
Atkins announces today that it has acquired the entire issued share capital of specialist programme management consultancy Mantix Group Limited for a cash consideration of £8.75 million.
Mantix works with clients making major investments in technology and business change, helping them to deliver value through effective programme and project management.
This acquisition deepens and broadens the capability of the Group's management consultancy business, which already has a top 20 UK position, and is a major provider of management consultancy services to UK central government.
It brings together Mantix's profile, expertise, methods and capability in systems relocation with Atkins' resources, capacity and skills in managing physical business relocations. The combined business will continue to invest in Mantix's Microsoft programme management solutions which support business change programmes.
Matthew Elson, Managing Director, Management Consultants said: "Mantix will provide us with key methods and tools that will be invaluable in our core government market and provide entry to the strategically important financial services sector. I am very excited by the talent that Mantix brings which, when combined with our existing capability, deepens our capacity to serve clients on their most pressing issues."
Mantix's chief executive, Tom Abram, who joins Atkins agreed: "Joining Atkins will give us the scale we need; we are all very excited about the chance to work together on larger programme management opportunities. Our expertise in programme management, when combined with Atkins' backing, resources and client base will be a formidable combination." Tom chairs the influential e-Government group of the IT industry trade association, Intellect.
Mantix has a staff of approximately 60 employees and consultants with offices in the City and Ipswich.
