Business & Decision Strengthens its Presence in the UK and USA with the Acquisition of Mi Services
Business & Decision, the European consulting and data engineering company specialising in Business Intelligence, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and E-Business solutions, today announced the acquisition of Mi Services, the international IT and Management Consultancy company with headquarters in the UK and the USA.
St Albans, 8 March 2006
Founded in 1984, Mi Services (www.mi-services.com) is renowned for its expertise in helping organisations improve their communications, interactions and transactions in their stakeholder relationships. The company has provided ERP solutions for clients from the Life Sciences, Public Sector and Financial Services industry sectors and specialises in providing Validation and Compliance solutions to Life Sciences clients. These clients include American Pacific, American Red Cross, BP, Creganna Medical Devices, Dales Pharmaceuticals, EDF, Johnson & Johnson, Innovene, Northumbrian Water, Novartis, Smith & Nephew, St. Jude Medical, Staffordshire Police, Tameside Police, United Utilities, the Universities of Manchester, Oxford Brookes and Southampton, and Wyeth. Mi Services is an Oracle Certified Advantaged Partner in both the UK and USA, which is the highest level of partner status within Oracle. This reflects Mi Services' extensive and in depth levels of expertise in delivering Oracle based solutions across the two continents.
“2006 has started on a positive note for Business & Decision”, said Ian Huckle, CEO, Business & Decision Limited.
“We are looking for strong growth in the UK this year. With this major acquisition, we will achieve 3 strategic objectives: an expansion in our critical mass both in the UK and USA, the acquisition of a strong ERP practice with specific strengths and competencies in the government sector and pharmaceutical industry and an increase of our customer base in the UK and USA to which we can extend our other areas of expertise.”
Mi Services is a privately held company based in Sunderland with a staff of 70 in the UK and 55 in the USA. For fiscal year ending 31st December 2005 Mi Services reported revenues of £13.86m. The combined entity will strengthen Business & Decision’s presence both in the UK (with offices in St Albans, Chester, Edinburgh, London, Oxford, Windsor and now Northwich and Sunderland) and in North America (with offices in Montreal and now Philadelphia).
According to Ian Howat, Chief Executive Officer, Mi Services UK, “It’s an exciting opportunity for us to assist with Business & Decision’s Enterprise Resource Planning practices in the UK and North America. There are many synergies between the two companies and together we can provide organisations with a range of best of breed business solutions.”
This acquisition is being funded by cash.
