Vodafone has announced an extension to its agreement with Swisscom that will see the firms jointly acquire new telecoms technology.

Both companies will support business communication needs and roaming arrangements for their customers.

A full range of products and services targeted at both consumers and larger organisations will now be sourced and deployed in cooperation.

Head of residential customers for Swisscom Christian Petit claimed the move would bring added value to benefit both firms and their subscribers.

Morten Lundal, chief commercial officer for Vodafone, emphasised the importance of Switzerland in the communications market.

He commented: "The agreement enhances our ability to serve our international customers headquartered in Switzerland and to continue to offer them a full range of international products and services."

The telecommunications group recently sold its 24.39 per cent stake in Polkomtel SA to Polish billionaire Zygmunt Solorz-Zak in an effort to realise the value of its non-controlled assets. ADNFCR-1833-ID-800743761-ADNFCR
