AT&T's proposed takeover of T-Mobile USA looks set to be delayed further after it emerged a court hearing regarding the deal has been postponed.
A status conference about the agreement was scheduled to take place tomorrow (November 30th) to consider the points put forward by the Justice Department and the companies involved.
However, Judge Ellen Huvelle, who is presiding over the case, has now decided to put this hearing back until December 9th due to the court's "scheduling conflict", Reuters reports.
Last week, it appeared that the $39 billion (£24 billion) proposal had been taken off the table altogether after both AT&T and T-Mobile USA withdrew their applications for approval from the Federal Communications Commission.
Nevertheless, Deutsche Telekom - parent company of T-Mobile USA - insisted it still wants the deal to go ahead, despite apparent widespread opposition from officials and regulators concerned about the potentially negative impact it would have on competition in the telecoms sector.
