Internet business solutions company NEC Corporation has completed its acquisition of NetCracker Technology, it has been announced.
The global firm, which employs 150,000 workers across Europe, the US and Asia, stated that NetCracker will become part of its Service Provider software division, where it will contribute products related to mobile and wireline segments.
NEC revealed that it made the purchase in order to improve the speed and efficiency with which it is able to deliver solutions to its clients.
Kaoru Yano, the company's president, remarked: "NetCracker's exceptional software solutions and professional services, combined with NEC's innovative offerings, will enable CSPs to accelerate their business transformations."
The financial details of the acquisition were not announced.
Last month, NEC was given the InfoVision Award in Brussels for its Remote Testing and Provisioning Solution.
It picked up the accolade at a ceremony linked to the Broadband World Forum Europe 2008, at which it also gave a presentation.
