Mizi Research is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Wind River Systems, following the completion of an acquisition deal last week.
Wind River, which was founded in 1981, is one of the world's largest device software optimisation firms and paid approximately $16 million (£9.8 million) in cash for 99 per cent of Mizzi's outstanding shares.
The takeover, which was first announced on August 28th, was designed to help boost the presence of Wind River's mobile services in the Asia-Pacific region and increase its level of expertise across the sector worldwide.
Mizi develops embedded Linux-based mobile application platforms, which links in with Wind River's Linux strategies.
The purchaser stated: "Wind River's mobile Linux strategy is focused on open standards and consortia and it is expected that Mizi's mobile expertise will be redeployed on these projects and provide a basis for differentiation."
Wind River acquired the embedded market division of FSMLabs in February 2007.
