Octus looks set to acquire Nova Mobility after announcing that it has signed a letter of intent.
The workplace technology firm is hoping that by joining with Nova it will improve its position both in terms of exposure and financing, as well as giving it a stronger foothold in the computing products market.
Should the acquisition go ahead, it will be done so in accordance with the terms and conditions laid out in the statement of intent.
Nova is to launch a range of new products in the business-to-business, industrial and consumer mobile device markets at the start of 2009, which it hopes will be a big success.
Sam Prysianzniuk, the company's global vice-president of sales, commented on the ultra-mobile PC and mobile internet devision products, claiming "the market feedback based upon the prototypes has been exceptional".
Last year, Nova signed a joint marketing deal with Architron Systems.
