Thrane & Thrane - the Danish communications specialist - has announced the acquisition of Naval Electronics AB (Naval).
Naval is a developer of TV antennas and distribution solutions for use in connection with international TV services.
The deal is part of Thrane & Thrane's strategy of expanding its product portfolio, to enhance growth and strengthen its market position.
Naval brings to Thrane & Thrane professional TV reception equipment, plus the new TV receive-only antennas which target commercial vessels.
The firm says the acquisition will "complement" its current range.
Naval's products will be marketed and distributed using Thrane & Thrane's existing consumer base - it is estimated the deal will bring 30 million DKK (£3.5 million) extra revenue in 2009/10 for the Danish firm, with further growth anticipated.
Based in Copenhagen, Thrane & Thrane was formed in 1981 by twin brothers - Per and Lars - and its communications products are sold around the world.
