Bury-based telecoms firm Genesis Communication has announced the acquisition of THUS mobile.
Genesis snapped up the communications services provider from Cable & Wireless for an undisclosed figure.
The Bury-based firm says that the acquisition means they will increase their turnover to £70 million and customer base to more than 23,000, making it the UK's biggest independent mobile virtual service provider.
Genesis director Piers Linney says that the deal effectively doubles the size of the business and equips them well for a changing market place.
"We believe that business customers no longer want voice and data services in isolation," he said.
"Instead, these need to be offered alongside hosted IT services as a converged solution, helping businesses increase efficiencies and revenues."
The announcement follows just weeks after another acquisition for Genesis, the purchase of Increase CRM.
Genesis provides mobile business services, with more than ten years experience in the small and medium enterprise sector.
