Technology giant Hewlett Packard (HP) has announced a definitive agreement for the acquisition of software storage and data security firm IBRIX.
Details of the acquisition were not disclosed but IBRIX has been partnered with HP for three years and has more than 175 enterprise customers spanning the communications, media, healthcare and financial services markets.
It provides solutions for its clients to store massive amounts of user-generated data, allowing them to add capacity as their needs grow.
Jeff Hausman, vice-president of Unified Storage, StorageWorks Division at HP said the deal will provide its customers with highly scalable storage solutions that cost-effectively manage massive amounts of information.
"This acquisition expands our portfolio to better support the needs of this market segment", he commented.
"In addition, IBRIX's highly scalable software leverages industry-standard hardware allowing customers to fully maximise their existing investments."
March saw IBRIX expand its operations by opening its Asia Pacific regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia.
