Business operating systems developer Everest Software has announced its acquisition by Versata Enterprises, which provides enterprise software solutions.
Everest is known for developing the first all-in-one small business management solution, designed for retail, wholesale and distribution firms.
The software automates all operations of a growing business, from accounting, inventory management, e-commerce and services to customer relationship management.
Under the acquisition, Everest will continue to operate as a standalone entity with the implementation of Versata's customer success programme, which focuses on creating successful relationships with customers.
"It will provide dramatic expansion to the customer outreach programmes that Everest began in 2007. This is an exciting opportunity for our customers and employees," commented Paul Gallagher, vice-president of marketing at Everest.
In 2008 Versata acquired Ecora Software, a leading provider of automated configuration auditing and compliance reporting solutions, which again is operated as a stand-alone entity with a focus on customer service and products.
