The Orange France Telecom Group announced the acquisition of 100 per cent of Unanimis, the largest exclusive digital advertising network in the UK, on Friday (August 28th).
Unanimis has advertising relationships with key website brands ranging from the AA, ASOS and Ticketmaster through to Gumtree and Shopping.com and, following the acquisition, Orange is expected to be at the forefront of Britain's digital and mobile advertising industry.
Paul Francois Fournier, executive vice-president of Orange Advertising, said the deal will help to drive revenues from nine per cent to 20 per cent in new growth areas, of which advertising is a "key strand".
"With the acquisition of Unanimis, Orange now has strong footholds in two of Europe's three main digital advertising markets - France and the UK - which provide outstanding opportunities to pan-European advertisers and agencies," he commented.
In June the Orange France Telecom group reported resilient results for the first half of 2009, in spite of increasing regulatory pressures coupled with the economic downturn.
