Bandwidth and telecoms solutions provider Zayo has announced the successful acquisition of FiberNet Telecom Group, a provider of collocation and interconnection services.
The announcement marks the commencement of Zayo as the exclusive operator of one of the world's largest interconnect exchanges, the 60 Hudson St Meet-Me-Room in New York City.
Zayo will also gain FiberNet's resvenue resulting for US connectivity services it provided to and from carriers in Europe, Asia and South America.
"The strategic foundation of Zayo Group is to provide bandwidth infrastructure services to carriers, internet companies, and other large consumers of bandwidth," commented Dan Caruso, chief executive officer of Zayo Group.
The firm now plans to launch a fourth business unit as a component of the integration of FiberNet, which will be named in the immediate future.
Zayo Group recently hosted a presentation at the Kaufman Bros Investor Conference in New York City on September 9th.
