Major UK-based domain name and hosting provider Namesco, a subsidiary of Dada, has acquired dedicated hosting firm Poundhost.
Poundhost, which offers professional management solutions for online presence to businesses, has over 10,000 dedicated and virtual servers and a sizeable high-end user base, 30 per cent of which is based in the US.
Paolo Barberis, chairman and founder of Dada, said the acquisition of Poundhost completes the offer of the group's digital services from domain to click, as well as opening up the potential of the US market.
"The further expansion of the customer base accelerates the development of Simply, the new Dada online advertising project, in the UK market in which internet advertising has already overtaken television," he added.
Dada, a major player in both Italy and Spain, acquired Namesco in 2007 for £24.5 million in cash as part of its strategy to extend its foothold in the European market and beyond.
