Limelight Networks, a web infrastructure solutions provider, has announced plans to acquire digital advertising firm EyeWonder for a consideration of approximately $110 million (£68.4 million).
The combination of EyeWonder's value-added monetisation business and the delivery, storage and consulting services of Limelight is expected to enable agencies and content publishers to maximise the revenue of their online strategies.
It is believed that the combined entity will have relations with more than 2,500 online businesses, 800 interactive agencies and 900 last-mile access networks.
"Today, two best-in-class companies are combining to capitalise on the clear opportunity created by a macro shift of content consumption and advertising spend
towards the growing world of internet-connected devices," commented Jeff Lunsford, chairman and chief executive officer of Limelight Networks.
Earlier this month, Limelight Networks' headquarters in Tempe, Arizona was recognised as one of the best places to work by the Pheonix Business Journal and BestCompaniesAZ.
