Translation services and technology provider TransPerfect has completed the acquisition of Astoria Software, a firm dealing in component content management software-as-a-service.

As a result of the merger deal, Astoria will join the TransPerfect family, where its complementary technologies are expected to create new benefits for clients.

The combined companies take in more than $220 million (£145 million) in revenue annually from 60 offices around the world, offering over 300 deployments of technology that manage global content.

"Both companies share an unwavering commitment to providing innovative solutions to customers with complex content requirements," commented Phil Shawe, joint chief executive officer of TransPerfect.

"The cultural fit between Astoria and TransPerfect couldn't be more aligned."

In 2008, TransPerfect acquired Overtaal, a provider of language training and translation services based in the Netherlands.

Although financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the deal is said to have expanded the firm's presence in Europe, bringing the number of TransPerfect offices on the continent to 14.ADNFCR-1833-ID-19751030-ADNFCR
