Solarsoft Business Systems has announced the acquisition of Informance International, a provider of enterprise manufacturing intelligence systems.
Informance's products aggregate production information on the shop floor to give managers better information regarding metrics such as yield, wastage and overall equipment effectiveness.
As a result of the acquisition deal, Solarsoft expects to expand its capabilities in manufacturing systems, as well as strengthening its expertise in growing markets.
Shawn McMorran, chief executive officer of Solarsoft Business Systems, said the deal complements the production and process controls systems in the firm's existing Mattec range.
"Together with Solarsoft's ERP systems, we now have a comprehensive proposition for manufacturers; we have strong software products and the industry expertise to help customers get the most out of their investment with us," he added.
In November last year, Solarsoft launched its new Tropos ERP system, providing enhanced shop floor data capture functionality that has applications throughout the entire manufacturing process.
