Telecoms firm Daisy Group has announced its acquisition of broadband solution company MurphX Innovative Solutions in a multi-million pound cash deal.
Daisy Group, which recently posted a 15 month operating loss of £16.2 million, is to buy out MurphX for a £4.8 million initial cash offer.
MurphX is a leading supplier of broadband connectivity and hosting solutions and the deal is part of Daisy Group's move away from wireless broadband into data solutions.
Daisy Group, previously recognised as Freedom4 Group, recently ditched its wireless broadband arm WiMAX for £12.5 million.
Chief executive of Daisy Group Matthew Riley told Crain's Manchester Business: "We have integrated acquired businesses on schedule, providing significant cost savings which will be reflected in our results for the year to 31st March 2011.
"We have in place the platform, the systems, the people and the product set to allow us to continue to grow organically and by further acquisitions."
Deloitte named Daisy the 18th-fastest growing technology company in its 2008 Fast50 Chart.
