Atlanta, US-based BroadSource, a wireless telecoms provider, will merge with Integrated Mobile, an Ohio-based managed mobility provider, the two firms have announced.
The "merger of equals" will combine both businesses' capabilities to create a more dominant competitor in the mid-to-large enterprise market.
The merged entity will be headquartered in Atlanta, maintaining offices in Ohio.
BroadSource chief executive officer Michael Lustig will head-up the new organisation.
"As a result of the merger, we now have a more comprehensive wireless and wireline offering for a wider range of businesses," Mr Lustig said.
"The combined companies will have more than 100 customers and will be profitable immediately – creating a stable platform for solid growth."
Early 2011 has seen new mergers and acquisitions flourish. According to Reuters, close to $21 billion (£13.4 billion) in deals has been secured over just the past few days.
Dealogic said that the start of 2011 represented the busiest period of activity for more than a decade.
