Security company G4S has announced the acquisition of the Cotswold Group, which provides software for surveillance, fraud analytics and intelligence services.
The deal, which will go through for a total of £10.2 million, has been made in a bid to strengthen the strategic development of G4S's covert surveillance operations, the company said. It will also offer the company the opportunity to pursue opportunities within local and national government, M&A Deals reported.
It is expected to be completed upon the achievement of targets in 2011 and 2012.
Tom Scott, chief executive officer of the Cotswold Group, said: "The opportunity to create a major force in investigation services and work for G4S teams in the UK and globally is an extremely exciting prospect."
This acquisition follows the purchase by G4S of coin management service MCH for £7 million in January, which followed the acquisition of Guernsey Air Condition in December.
G4S was established in Denmark in 1901, under the name Kjøbenhavn Frederiksberg Nattevagt. The company now employs 625,000 people in 120 countries.
