Business outsourcing software company the Capita Group has made its second acquisition in a week, after taking over Technophobia in a deal worth £6.3 million.
The Sheffield-based company, which provides web applications and hosting for many high-street names, will help to improve operations and efficiencies at Capita, and aid the development of its web-based management services, including providing website and intranets for public and private companies.
This move follows a deal with Right Document Solutions Holdings for a possible £40 million, earlier this week.
Paul Dawson, business director of systems integration at Capita, said: "Competition is tougher than ever in the private sector and having a website that is easy to navigate, intuitive and integrates neatly with other channels of communication is essential."
Under the terms of the deal Technophobia managing director Emma Marshall will remain in place. The company will become part of the IT Services division, but will be a standalone entity.
