A $345 million (£209 million) acquisition deal has been struck between Dallas-based Alliance Data and leading marketing agency Aspen.
The former company's Epsilon business, which provides loyalty and marketing solutions, has agreed to take over the latter company in a bid to provide further depth in its telecoms work, bring new platforms to the company, and increase cross-selling opportunities. The deal will also enhance Epsilon's agency business.
Epsilon president Bryan Kennedy said: "Aspen is a well-admired, innovative agency that is a perfect fit for Epsilon. We are committed to transforming our agency business to become a market leader, and this acquisition is a very strategic and important move in that direction."
Patrick O'Rahilly, president of Aspen, described the acquisition as a "prime opportunity."
Alliance Data provides software capabilities enabling companies to grow their business. It uses transactions rich consumer data to develop customised solutions to help build and foster relationships with customers, leading to sales and business growth.
