Security software company G4S has this week announced its third acquisition since the start of 2011, with the purchase of offender technology company Guidance Monitoring.
It comes just weeks after the company bought out technology firm the Cotswold Group in a deal worth over £10 million.
The buyout, which has been completed for an undisclosed amount, has been made with the intention of furthering and developing its secure people monitoring services in new and existing markets.
Guidance Monitoring is a Leicester-based company which designs and manufactures a range of electrical monitoring hardware and software which is used for offender monitoring and tracking. It recently won contracts to become the sole provider of technology to the national electronic monitoring programmes in Saudi Arabia, Norway and France.
David Taylor-Smith, who is the regional chief executive officer of G4S in the UK and Africa, said: "We believe Guidance Monitoring's market-leading technology provides the best platform for future global expansion in the offender monitoring marketplace."
